Frequently asked questions about this site

Last Update 1/1/05
1. What is port 80?
Port 80 is the standard port number for the http service otherwise
known as the port your browser connections to view a webpage.
This port is opened (usually) by a webserver of some sort usually
apache or IIS. If you see a system with port 80 open there is a 90%+ percent chance they are running a webserver/website. I
added this question to our FAQ due to the large amount of emails I've received.
2. Are you for hire?
I work a fulltime job as a Security Analyst but I'm available for part time work. I can be contacted
at admin@cgisecurity.com.
3. When is your next advisory coming out?
I've decided to stop releasing advisories. That is all.
4. Is your site for sale?
Make me a serious offer and find out :) The only thing I will say is that
this site gets a few thousand unique visitors a day.
5. Will you help me hack a website?
No.
6. Do you get scanned or attacked alot?
So much in fact I've stopped counting....
7. When I visit a site it says "Forbidden access - apache port 80 denied."
Can you help me figure out why I can't get access to the site?
I get this question weekly so I figured I'd add it to the FAQ.
This error is coming from the remote web server. This error usually
happens when the webmaster/administrator has a permission change
on the website so that it is "NOT" world readable. If you see a error
like this contact the website owner. Often times this error is a
mistake caused by the webmaster, and they may not notice it right away
so it would be nice to drop them an email.
8. I'd like to submit a Press Release, Advisory, Article, or White Paper to get published on this site. Who should I contact?
Fill out our if you have something you think our visitors will find useful.
9. I found a cool news story I think your visitors will find interesting. Where can I submit the link to?
Great! First visit our and either write the
story in your own words, or provide us the link and it may get published. Credit will be given to those
submitting news. We will obfuscate your email address (if provided) to prevent it from being gathered
by spam harvesters.
